- Tendency to form keloid scars (excessive growth of connective tissue at the site of even minor injuries)
- Presence of a pacemaker
- Hepatitis, syphilis, AIDS
- Taking medications containing isotretinoin (e.g., Roaccutane, Accutane, etc.)
Additionally, we inform clients that electrolysis has several relative contraindications:
- Varicose veins at the site of the procedure
- Thyroid diseases (when performing electrolysis on the face and neck)
- Acute or chronic skin conditions (warts, papillomas, vitiligo, eczema, psoriasis, vulgar acne, and herpes in the treated area)
- Infectious and viral diseases (can be treated after full recovery)
- Pregnancy and lactation (first 6 months postpartum)
- Hemorrhoids (when treating the area near the anus)
- Uterine fibroids, cysts, and breast tumors (only with a doctor’s permission)
- Allergic reactions to electrical current or alloys in needle materials (notify the specialist to choose a hypoallergenic needle)
- Damaged skin at the site of the procedure (peeling, abrasions, sunburn, etc. – procedures are prohibited until complete healing)
- Presence of metal implants (for electrolysis with a blend technique)
- Cochlear implants
- Botox injections at the treated site (can proceed after the rehabilitation period; however, consult with the specialist if Botox should not spread)
